Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP)

Funding for the Maryland Energy Assistance Program for the current program year (October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2025) has been fully allocated.

All available funds have been committed to eligible applicants. We cannot guarantee assistance for clients who are placed on the waitlist during this funding cycle.

If you are still in need of assistance with heating, cooling, or hot water systems, you may qualify for services through the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Special Loans Program. This program may provide grants or low interest loans based on income eligibility. For more information please contact the Special Loans Program (SLP).

MEAP is in part a federally funded program that operates year-round and assists eligible Maryland households free of charge. The program is aimed at making homes more comfortable by repairing and replacing heating, cooling, and water heating systems.

We do not provide bill pay assistance, if you are in need of bill pay assistance please contact your local county's Energy Assistance office (OHEP) or call 800-332-6347.

The local agency will discuss the results of the assessment with you and schedule a contractor to come out to your home to complete the recommended work.
