The Division of Homeless Solutions works with organizations across the state to prevent and end homelessness. Under the leadership of Assistant Secretary Danielle Meister, the creation of the Division of Homeless Solutions marks the elevation of the Department’s work to ensure residents make fast connections to permanent housing with supportive services individualized to each household’s needs.

Homelessness Solutions Program (HSP)
Provides technical support and funding to Continuums of Care (CoCs) and Local Homeless Coalitions (LHCs) to coordinate housing resources across the state

Provides funding to support activities and programs to eliminate poverty, promote self-sufficiency, and stimulate community revitalization

Community Schools Rental Assistance Program
Provides emergency rental assistance to student households enrolled in Maryland community schools who are experiencing housing instability and homelessness
