Notice of Funding Opportunity Maryland Affordable Housing Trust (MAHT) Fiscal Year 2027 Grant Application Competition

The Maryland Affordable Housing Trust (MAHT)  Round 53 application competition is open for Fiscal Year 2027.

The Maryland Affordable Housing Trust promotes initiatives that make affordable housing more available throughout the State of Maryland.  MAHT provides assistance for households earning less than 50% of median income, with a preference given to serving households earning less than 30% of median income by:

  • Funding capital costs of rental and ownership housing;
  • Providing financial assistance for non-profit developer capacity building;
  • Funding supportive services for occupants of affordable housing; and
  • Funding operating expenses of affordable housing developments.

Who can apply? 

Eligible applicants include:

  • Nonprofit Community-Based Organizations (501c3)
  • County and Local Government Agencies
  • Public housing authorities
  •   Affordable housing developers (Non-profit and For-profit)

Important Dates:

  • Application Deadline: September 10, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. 
  • Round 53 (SFY27) Application Competition Webinar: July 31, 2026  at 2:00 p.m.
